In 1998, I created the logo for the DuClaw Brewing Company–a Bel Air, MD based craft brewery and restaurant. Established in 1996, DuClaw is today a household name in the Maryland brewing scene. This commission was quickly followed by the design of the labels for some of the brewpub’s first beers, Bad Moon Porter and Ravenwood. The owner wanted a distinctive mark for DuClaw to stand out and set an edgy and irreverent tone for the staging of many seasonal microbrews. Its brand stood strong for over 20 years until 2019, when the business was sold to new management.
